CLASS
PHASE 1
32-Hour Driver Ed Class (16 sessions, 2 hours each session)
DPS Written Permit Test (certificate is issued the 1st week of class)
PHASE 2
7 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons
7 Hours In-Car Observation
You may start the program at age 14 and 10 months but cannot receive a learner's permit or in-car driving lessons until you are 15.
You must have your learner's permit before you can start behind-the-wheel driving lessons. The permit test is given in class. After passing, you will receive a certificate to take to DPS. All driving lessons will be given in one of our driving school vehicles. You will be expected to schedule your lessons through your online account. You are required to bring your learner's permit to your lessons. The driving lesson will consist of one hour of driving and one hour of observation.
Administration fees will apply if tuition is not paid by deadline date.
• By law, only 5 absences are allowed, make up days are on Saturdays
• Students who have not completed the course within the contract timelines will have their
enrollment terminated and permit canceled.
DRIVING
Drive times are scheduled online here and there will be a one-time setup fee of $15.
This is in addition to tuition.
7 driving lessons - 2 hours each lesson for a total of 14 hours.
Each lesson consists of 1 hour of driving and 1 hour of observation.
Students may ONLY sign up for the lesson once they have received their permit and paid in full.
PERMIT
The following documents must be submitted to DPS for permit testing:
• Verification of Enrollment (VOE) form from student's school (valid only 30 days)
• Original certified birth certificate, no copies or hospital versions are accepted
• No foreign birth certificates accepted, must have resident alien card, passport with US visa, or citizenship papers
• Original Social Security card
• DE964 form provided by TK Driving School Driving School
• Two proofs of residency documents not more than 90 days old
PARENT OBSERVATION HOURS:
• Drivers must receive an additional 30 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. These
hours are required to be certified by a parent or guardian before a teenager may.
